Prifask (Prī´-fask) is the root of the word “thrive.” It is a Scandinavian word circa 1200. Although its origin is unknown, at that time within the Scandinavian countries variation of the word Prifask came to describe the idea of growing strong, flourishing, and grasping ahold.
